Five countries seek to promote the Desertec project, which involves construction of mammoth solar park in the Sahara desert at the same time as RWE plans to implement wind and solar park in Morocco.
In particular, the governments of Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Morocco have reached a preliminary agreement for Desertec, which provides solar in the desert 600 million budget and introduction of the solar energy in Europe.
As mentioned publication of Süddeutschen Zeitung, soon is expected to sign a letter of intent to participate in the project, while from 2013 may join the project and other governments.
These developments come a few days after the announcement of the German companies Siemens and Bosch have left the project.
The Desertec enjoys the support of the European Union and provides for the creation of the first photovoltaic and wind power plants from 2014 to 2016.
Moreover, consortium of companies led by RWE plans to build wind farms and solar power of 50 megawatts in Morocco the same period, which will be one of the pillars of Desertec.
